I write therefore I am. My six-word memoir? Teetered on the precipice then jumped.
Biography
My writing—poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction—shapes idea and image into language and form, a journey to my river of truth. My writing has received a James Jones First Novel Fellowship, an Oregon Literary Fellowship, and recognition from the Oregon State Poetry Association.
In 2007, my poetry chapbook, The Hours of Us, was published by Finishing Line Press and my VoiceCatcher 4 story, Cut Offhas been nominated for a 2010 Pushcart Prize. A native of the coal country of northeastern Pennsylvania, I now live in northeast Portland, Oregon.
Interests
Reading, writing, not arithmetic. The nerdy art and craft of poetry. Walking and yoga. Street fairs, parades, and disco. Movies in real theatres. Theatre on real stages. Art in real galleries.
