Six-Word Memoir

I did one today, in response to a contest over at Powells.com. Sum up your life in six words by the deadline of April 15, 2009. They'll pick the top ten (I am entry #1926) and then submit those to Harper Collins for possible publication in a book of the best. After some looking at the other entries (most suck) then tinkering, fiddling, and looking up words in a thesaurus, I came up with this: 

Teetered on the precipice then jumped. 

It’s Been a While...

I've been busy keeping up with publishing a "real" blog over at www.writersdojo.org. That has been much more like homework than this blog ever was for me. That, and the general busyness of days when you try to keep the household functioning, walk 10,000 steps, keep the bird ecosystem stocked with black oiled sunflower seeds (and thus chirping) and, let's not forget, homework for my recently concluded Attic poetry class. The days chug along, spring arrives, the garden's plants come back to life, blossom, start to break into bud. Cycle of the seasons and all that. Some days I am daunted by the speed that is time—and life—passing.
