More Good News

A toddler falling from a fire escape caught by first one guy who lost his grip then his friend. In New York City again. In less than upwardly mobile neighrborhoods as well. See, there really are good things happening out there in the hostile, wooly world.

January 3rd, Good News Day

I meant to mention yesterday that there were two rays of sunshine from the often dreary, depressing world on Wednesday. I am thinking I may try and do this more often, every few days, post my idea of uplifting news of the world.

The first got media attention: Oprah Winfrey cutting the ribbon at the celebrity-studded opening ceremonies of her new leadership academy for girls near Johannesburg, South Africa. And the second, even more astonishing, and just as life-affirming, was the story of a man's life saved by a stranger after he fell onto the tracks in a New York city subway station.
