While John, Richard, and Ronna have been gadding about French-speaking provinces in foreign countries, I've been here, home, with the cats. I have no pictures to show because I haven't mastered the digital, scanning technology yet. But, I have...seen two great movies AND bought a jar of bubbles and blown them AND seen several great movies on the DVD at home...AND watched more than a few storms arrive, descend, and depart from my corner of the Pacific Northwest.
Movie marathon includes Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona. A beyond fabulous French thriller, Tell No One. Two nerdy documentaries: Helvetica -- yes a film about a font! -- and the uplifting and spectacular, possibly life-changing, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap Box. Before all of the above, Thelma and Louise: The Director's Cut.
There's also been great radio. The Bob on XM, this week's themes? School and Summer. And the Mt. Hood Community College jazz/blues station, 89.1 FM with their evening offerings, Divaville and Piano Jazz. Ah, I may finally have arrived someplace that feels like home, I may finally have settled down.
